BIOGA works to improve the competitive market positioning of the Galician biotechnology sector, seeking competitive improvement and business generation through the promotion of actions and services customized for the sector’s companies. As a technological application of biological systems, it is characterized by its multidisciplinary nature and its promotion transversal solutions and applications.

83% of BIOGA's associate members are SMEs, which employ 1,500 highly qualified workers. Along with companies that do belong to its specific industry, BIOGA also counts with the participation of biomedical foundations, universities, research groups, technology centers and public entities.
It hosts the BioSpeed Datingforum as a benchmark for the sector for the sharing of biotechnological projects among the different agents of the sector.
The so-called Lonja of Bio-Investors of Galicia has held 7 editions so far. 30% of the projects submitted could cover their financing needs for the initial phase of the business.
Since 2015, the Cluster issues the Biotech Report, and annual account of the sector’s business and research achievements in Galicia.
